The Orrville High School class of 1989 celebrated their 20th reunion on Sat, July 11. More than 40 classmates reunited for a day of sharing memories and creating new ones.
The day began with a family picnic at Schmid Hall followed by a tour of Orrville High School and a look at the new multi-purpose facility, currently under construction. Jon Ritchie, superintendent, Orrville City Schools led the tour and shared that the Class of 1989 was the last class to have a black and white class composite picture hanging on the walls of OHS.
An evening dinner attended by 41 classmates and joined by spouses and guests was held at the Arden Shisler Conference Center in Wooster. Jeff Leggett, class president, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
A class picture was taken by Kathy Wagner Wince. Classmates can view photos of the reunion here. Please post any pictures that you would like to share.
Jodi Ott Davis and Katherine Shockley entertained classmates with superlative awards. Some of the most notable included classmate that had been married the longest, Tom Bailey, 20 years; classmate that had the most children, Belinda Frase Adcock, 6 girls; and classmate who travelled the farthest, Christine Harris from California.
Special recognition was given to classmates in attendance that had served in the military, Bryan Woodward, navy and Mark Flickinger, army.
A raffle drawing for an Orrville sweatshirt was won by Mike Maag.
The highlight of the evening was a video presentation created by Sheri Reusser Stallsmith that featured pictures of classmates from pre-school through senior year mixed with current images.
The 20th Reunion planning committee included Jeff Leggett, Lori Bowen Reinbolt, Jennifer Brillhart Cass, Andrea Bertsch Gerber, Jeremy Geiser and Melanie Reusser Garcia. The committee extends a special thank you to Sharon Gadfield Snavely for her efforts in bringing the committee together nearly a year ago to start plans for the reunion. Snavely stepped down from the committee in March due to personal circumstances and unfortunately was unable to attend Saturday's festivities.
